Read, annotate with Diigo, for Tuesday: "Mrs. Kelly's Monster" by Jon Franklin.

Read, respond in a one-page journal entry, for Friday (this was mistakenly listed as Thursday earlier): "The Minority Quarterback" by Ira Berkow.

I'm going to bookmark some trend stories and annotate them on Diigo this weekend. Take a look -- they're in the Mr. Baron's A block group. I think the annotations will help you see how these stories are set up and get more familiar with the grammar and voice of a newspaper feature.

Here's a story that the Roar published, but it began as a trend story for my class. Read it and annotate it using Diigo for tomorrow. When annotating, think about the task ahead of you and how the author here handled it -- who did he interview? Are all of the relevant questions answered? Is there a mix of broad information and concrete details? How is is structured? How does the lead work?
